TickBitePreventionWeek

Appearances may be deceiving. Ticks ARE dangerous to your pets.

Ticks bring discomfort and diseases. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can even be spread to humans by infected ticks.

  • Ticks are active and looking for something to feed on (you and your pet) as soon as the temperature hits 40 degrees.
  • Ticks transmit Lyme Disease and many other very serious and deadly illnesses.
  • Ticks can be tiny (too small to see), and they can look like a skin lump on your pet’s body.
  • Ticks live in wooded areas, tall grass, bushes, or leaves.

We recommend treating your pet regularly with a good quality tick repellent.
Contact your veterinarian in case of any issues or questions.

There are a few new tick species found in Europe since 2020-2021 and it is even more important to treat your pets against the ticks, as we are currently unsure of the long-term consequences of the illnesses the new species may cause.
