🐾 Celebrating International Cat Day:
A Purrrrrrfect Tribute Every 8th of August

Each year on 8 August, cat lovers around the globe unite to celebrate International Cat Day - a date dedicated entirely to our feline companions. It’s more than just a chance to flood social media with adorable whiskered selfies, it’s a moment to spotlight the significance of cats in our lives, advocate for their welfare, and, of course, spoil them rotten.

Whether you're a devoted cat parent or simply enchanted by their mysterious charm, this day offers a gentle reminder of the joy, calm, and occasional chaos that cats bring into our homes.

✨ How to Celebrate

  • Treat your cat to a new toy or a gourmet snack - cat nip toys are great!
  • Share a photo of your kitty's cutest moments - many rescues will suggest you add your kitty to their posts - you can also add it on our Facebook Group
  • Support your local animal shelter - donate, adopt, or volunteer - list of local places is here (link
  • Learn more about feline behaviour and health to be a better cat carer - follow our blog and social media pages

International Cat Day was originally created by the International Fund for Animal Welfare in 2002, and has since become an annual tradition for millions. It's not just about celebration - it's about education and compassion.

So on the 8th of August, pause for a purr and give your furry friend an extra scratch behind the ears. They deserve it. 🐱
